I've been using the Hyde Park Freestanding Towel Warmer and Drying Rack for about one month. It appears to be very well-built - it is sturdy and does not tip easily. Towels don't get nearly as warm as they would in a clothes dryer (a clothes dryer uses far more energy). However, it dries them thoroughly, allowing them to absorb more water far more quickly. I put a timer (about $10 at Lowes) on the receptacle, keeping the rack energized only a few hours before and after normal towel use times. This should minimize the impact on the electricity bill.

We liked our Warmrails so well we bought this for our 4 kids. It's great because it's portable, but very stable, and we load 4 big towels on it after every bath. This is PLENTY big! It keeps the towels dry and fresh, extending their pre-washing life. We only turn it on to dry them out, so we cheat the boys out of the warmth, but someday they'll care enough to turn it on! We also keep it on a plug-in timer so it doesn't use an excessive amount of power. Great value, great product.

I previously owned another brand towel warmer but it broke after many years of use. I searched and searched to find a reasonably priced one to replace it. The Warmrails was the one i settled on and I couldnt be happier! It actually works much better than my previous one and heats the towels nicely. You dont realize how damp your towels really stay until you have to go without a towel warmer for several weeks! I would highly recommend this brand - its also attractive and adds something to the bathroom decor. And as a side note...the key to using a towel warmer is to LAYER the towels. This makes the towels much warmer.

I absolutely love these things and have them in each of my bathrooms (4). They have a very strong heating element which makes for one wonderful after bath experience! I would take the advice of another reviewer here though, and put you rack on a timer and these puppies can run up quite a large electric bill and do it quite quickly. I certainly would not leave one running all day. I usually have mine on a bit before I take my evening bath and the have the timer set for about an hour before I arise in the morning.
This is an attractive model and does not take up all that much room. These of course are great for drying towels. A towel that is not perfectly dry is a sad creature indeed. This has always been a real hang-up for me but these nifty little warmers have taken that particular anxiety away. As an added attraction, there is something simply quite sensual and sexy about using a nice warm and fluffy towel.

I wanted a towel warmer since we moved to a cooler climate. This is one of the best things I ever bought.
It is such a delight to wrap up in a warm dry towel on a cool day. I also put my pajamas on there, between towels and that is a soothing feeling as well. Put the folded towels in layers. The ones on the bottom are the warmest. the towels are now always dry and warm. One minor flaw is that the heat is not evenly distributed.
The towel ends are not as warm, but it is still a great luxurious feeling after a shower or bath.

This heated towel rack is very well made and works wonderfully. It is large enough that you need to be sure it will fit in your bathroom or bedroom, wherever you would like to use it. In other words, be aware it takes up a lot of floor space. We wondered if a wall mounted unit would be better, but I liked the versatility this gives - moving it from room to room if I want. We've already enjoyed many warm towels upon emerging from our shower. It feels truly luxurious. It holds only about three large bath towels and they pretty much have to drape over each other on the racks. But if they have plenty of time they all get warm enough.

Warmrails Hyde Park Freestanding Towel Warmer and Drying Rack, Chrome
Having just moved to Massachusetts from California - I'm really cold and it's only the end of October. Although the towel warmer doesn't get the towels really hot, they're warm and very dry. I really noticed that the towels weren't drying well and seemed clammy in the morning even though the ventilation in the bathroom is good. At any rate, the towel warmer has fixed the problem perfectly. We don't leave it on all the time, we turn the warmer on when we go to bed and off before we leave the house in the morning. Gives the towels some time to dry after morning showers and saves electricity.

This is our second towel warming rack and it is just great. The other was very similar to Warmrails "traditional" and this is superior because there are more bars and more of the towel gets nice and toasty. There is adequate room for two towels folded in thirds. The entire towel get warm and the botton rung holds a hand towel. For the price it simply cannot be beat and we loved the idea of the timer. It comes on at 5 am and off at 9 am after the towels have had a chance to dry. The stand is stable and actually the unit is quite attractive. Our prior towel warmer was installed on the wall which is terrific, but now if we move again it will go with us! If you are new to towel warmers, you are in for a real treat. It's pure luxury.

There's nothing nicer than a warm, dry, towel. And in the summer this heater keeps towels from getting musty so quickly. But, our electric bill went up $40 per month and we didn't know why....until we unplugged the towel warmer. Now we plug it in long enough to dry the towels, or to heat them while we shower. Then we turn it off again. Other than being an electricity hog, this is a great product, and we enjoy the feeling of being pampered and comforted with heated towels.

I live in Southern California and I really appreciate this unit. My husband and I had an apartment in Paris that had a great towel warmer. It's hard to describe the European warmer, but it had more surface area. My complaint with the few units I've seen here in the United States is that they have rungs instead of a tile-like surface heating area, and therefore aren't as efficient and don't do as good a job of heating/drying. However, given that the European units don't seem to be available here, this unit works well enough. We use it to warm/dry our towels, dry swimsuits, etc. without having to start up the clothes dryer. It's also very nice to have a warmish towel when you step out of the shower.

First of all, I have to say Amazon did a great job of shipping, I ordered it on Sept 6 and received on Sept 11.
Upon close examination of the product, I found some nicks of the top corners that the metallic surface was scrapped away and the dark material inside was showing. It was probably caused by the item moving around during transportation because it wasn't packed very well by the manufacturer (no foam or bubble wrap, it was just placed inside a large plastic bag). Also there are stickers on the heating rails that left a sticky residue behind after removal.
We live in a city apartment that the windows and shades of the bathroom must be closed most of the time for security reason. That doesn't leave a lot of air circulation and wet towels create odor pretty quickly. This product seems to work well so far, it dries and warms the towels and the odor is gone.
I would give Amazon 5 stars and Warmrails 3, average 4 stars.

Well first thing I noticed was this wasn't packaged very well. No padding whatsoever, but it arrived unscathed. Next thing was the two screw holes didn't line up. This only has 2 screws and I couldn't get it put together. Frustrated, I was ready to return it, but tried one last time with my wife helping me pull the rails to align the holes.
After using it for a couple days I find it works rather well. I'm used to having a regular dry towel so any warmth is a plus. My daughter who had her towels tumble dried says it's not warm enough. (she's spoiled) It doesn't heat the entire towel so we end up layering several towels and it retains the heat pretty well.
Is this product worth the retail price of $200? I don't think so, but for the sale price, I think it's a nice addition.

The order was delivered promptly. There was a missing top cap, but when we called, the part was sent immediately. The warming element is hot enough to dry "just after the shower" damp towels overnight. Be sure to use a towel under your hand washed items. It could certainly be wider so the towels don't overlap. Good product to use year round.
24.) Very useful item

This is a very useful item to own. It is easy to assemble. It does a good job of drying towels. My husband and I hang our bath towels on it at night and then shut off the unit in the morning. We get a lot more use out of our towels this way. The unit does get a little hot, so I would not recommend its use around young children. It does need a bit of floor space, so if your bathroom is tight, you might want to keep the unit in your bedroom or hallway.

We had a cheaper version of this brand that was OK, but was not very steady on its feet. This is much better, and the plug attachment is less prone to break. That said, it doesn't seem to heat the towels any better, which is somewhat of a disappointment. It may even be a little worse at that task. Still, it's very nice to have dry towels, particularly in the summer when the humidity is high.

My old house is without the benefit of central heat/air. As a result, parts of the downstairs are perpetually dank. Towels would stay damp from one bath to the next, unless I ran them through the clothes dryer. Time and trouble. Having guests meant constantly monitoring the bathroom.
I was rather desperate for comfort when I ordered this, and I wasn't expecting much. What a pleasant surprise! My towels now dry completely and quickly. If I want a warm towel after my bath, I flick the switch while I run the water. Usually, though, it's only used for drying towels and hand washables. (Wet bedroom slippers dry promptly when hooked over the poles.)
The only reason this treasure is not awarded five stars is that I've not yet gotten a utility bill for the time period after its arrival. Info when I get it.

This product is sturdy and as attractive as you can expect a towel rack to be. The warming/drying feature is OK, but not a huge benefit in actual usage. The real disappointment I experienced was value of the product compared to its price. I definitely experienced "buyer's regret", and if returning it didn't involve reboxing, shipping, etc., I would.
