We purchased two smaller Warmrails towel warmers from Amazon for our master bath in the spring of 2007 and liked them so much we decided to add this large Warmrails towel warmer for our guest bath. All of them are superb. One of the best features is that, in the humid summer weather here in Vermont, the towels get quite dry within several hours. In the winter, of course, the towels are toasty warm. If someone wants really hot towels, this towel warmer is probably not the best choice -- towels get warm but not hot-hot. We fold our towels so they are 4 layers thick, and put them over the towel warmer (i.e., 4 layers over the front and 4 layers in the back), and 3 of the layers are quite warm.

We purchased the towel warmer with a plug-in option. The cord is fairly long, and our electrician was able to thread the cord through a hole right behind the towel warmer, and plug it into an outlet in a closet behind the bathroom. This made the cord practically invisible in the bathroom. Finally, the towel warmer metal rails are quite warm, but I can put my hand on them for a few seconds without feeling like I will get burned. I would highly recommend the Warmrails product.

This product worked very nicely in my newly remodeled bathroom. It cost hundreds of dollars less than comparable products, but looks and works just as well. More than just keeping the towels warm, it also helps to dry them out quickly which in a humid climate means they stay fresher longer. Installation was very easy, just attach it to the wall and plug it in, or if you want you can hardwire it. I plan on buying the smaller version to install in my guest bath when I get around to remodeling it.

A towel warmer is hardly a luxury, especially at this price, not much more than a regular towel rack and holding twice as much. A towel warmer keeps the bathroom warmer, keeps a small bathroom from getting funky, and keeps towels from getting stinky. This one is my third towel warmer, I've had it for over a year, and love it. No, it will not warm your towels as if they came out of the dryer, but it will warm them and dry them quickly.

I just completed an extensive remodeling of my master bath. One of the items that was a "must have" was a towel warmer. I requested the contractor install one, but when I saw the one he bought I knew it was way too small. So, I had him return it and I bought this one from Amazon. I installed it myself. The only complaint is that attaching the bottom leg next to the switch is nearly impossible. I have a flexible bit that allows me to bend my screwdriver in all manners to get in tight spaces; there was NO way I could figure out how to get the top screw in this leg put in. I ended up leaving it out as the towel rack seems very solid with seven of eight screws in place. I leave mine on all the time. Hanging on it daily, I have a bath sheet for me, another large towel that I use to wipe down my new shower with every day (it gets soaked), a washcloth, a hand towel and a bath mat. They are all dry and toasty, ready to be used by the next morning. I really love it and I know I'm going to be really happy this summer when it's humid. In the past, my towels wouldn't completely dry if it was really sticky. Now they'll be nice and dry.

This is a great addition to our bath. The towels are always dry and warm when needed. We didn't have room in our bath so we placed it on the wall in the commode room. If we keep the door closed it keeps it several degrees warmer in there. A nice thing on a chilly morning. It states to have it installed by an electrician, however, anyone who know just a little about electrical work would be able to do this. Many years ago during overseas travel I discovered towel warmers in bathrooms, and I was hooked. This Warmrails model does a nice job--as long as several towels are layered on the bars. The more there are, the warmer the towels get, so just one hung over the top rail won't get very warm. We had a different Warmrails unit in our old home that was more like shelves. The towels could be folded and stacked and thus seemed to get a bit warmer than this model--but it was less efficient when used as a drying rack and was much smaller. Since this model is designed to be wall-mounted, it takes up very little space, and it can be hard or soft wired--a nice feature. I definitely would recommend this to folks who like warm towels when they get out of the bath or shower. Once caution--the side pieces on this unit get warm also, so use care when adding or removing towels or garments.

150W 24/7 is enough to keep cosy and dry a small shower/toilet if the heating is of.
The surface is hot and not recommended to mount it near sensitive material as shower curtain etc.
The surface finishing is rough and i would pay even $10 more for a better and smother chrome-surface instad of the nickel surface.
The width is enough to dry two 1x folded, large size towels over night.
I would suggest to buy a Warmrails Towel Shelf Wall Mounted Towel Warmer and Drying Shelf, Satin Nickel to store the clean towels in case you need more than two towels near by.

The Warmrails Kensington is very well constructed: solid and with professional-level, water resistant on/off switch. I purchased the soft wired model, since my nearby light switch was easily modified into a switch/receptable combo to plug the unit into.

My only complaint deals with the fragile, plastic wall-mount, base brackets that slip into the ends of the rails for anchoring on the wall. I snapped one off during installation since the Warmrails unit was not flat (warped during shipping perhaps). I will repair it with Epoxy and completely fill the hollow portion of the mount with Epoxy resin in order to strengthen it. Metal, base brackets would be much, much better.

After looking on the internet for similar products, I ordered the Warm Rails in oil rubbed bronze to go in our renovated house. I wanted our bath to have "spa" appeal. My husband hates damp towels and always wanted to spread them out all over the bathroom so they would dry quicker(not attractive). We had considered installing a small stackable washer/dryer in a closet in the master bedroom area because we love comfy towels. After reading the reviews of this product, I knew that the towels would be warm, not hot, so I wasn't real surprised when they were not as hot as a dryer would get them...all that said, we are very pleased with our towel warmer after 6 weeks of use and would never give it up! We keep it on 24/7 and plan to have it hardwired at some point. It does get hot enough that you should definitely take percautions with children. Finally, I ordered this product in November 2008 for $185 and upon trying to install, found it was missing some mounting brackets. The construction is solid and sturdy. Using it is a bit tricky. At first we left it on all the time but we soon realized that our towels were being cooked and smelled burnt when we used them not to mentioned discolored. So we now turn it on just before getting into the shower or bath and although the towels are not like they just came out of he dryer they are warm and perfect for us. Now the only problem is remembering to turn it off once the towels have had a chance to dry. There needs to be a built in timer or you could have an electrician add one. Despite the few negatives I do recommend this product to others.

I have had a free standing towel warmer in my miniscule bathroom for about 18 mos. It was time to get a wall-mounted fixture to save on space. Therefore, I knew what to expect; either outrageous prices for towel racks which can probably warm towels, or a moderate price for a rack that will dry towels. I am pleased with my choice.

The reason for the 4 stars is that the rack came plastered with lots of big stick-on labels which took time, patience and lots of WD-40 to remove. Not customer friendly.

Installing on the wall was fairly easy, the product seems well built and looks well finished without exposed screw holes etc. Not sure about the quantity of energy use-manufacturer says the same as a light bulb but does not specify how big a light bulb! I purchased this 12/09 and finally was able to install it in remodeled bathroom in 5/10.

I was surprised that the wall brackets were painted chrome color on plastic. I would have paid more for some thing that won't eventually peel. We put a lot of our time and money and prep for this and were surprised at when and where they decided to cheapen the product.

Also surprised they didn't provide 3 wire nuts, since it takes a smaller wire nut than most of us have lying around.

It was also missing or didn't include two chrome screws to attach the face plate to electrical box. Fortunately we had some but I doubt if most folks do. There is no way of knowing if they forgot or don't provide since there is no list of all the parts that should be included.

We hardwired ours to the wall which requires you be very careful in postioning it. We made sure we put the 2x4s in the wall exactly where the brackets would line up so it would hold up over time. The problem we ran into and you may if you are remodeling is the fact that the electrical box we bought at Home Depot has a metal plate on the front of the 2x4. We didn't take that into consideration when we lined up the lower right hand bracket to the wall. There is no way around this since the wiring box on the Warmrails has to be just left of the bottom right hand bracket. Sure enough when we screwed the right lower bracket into the wall we hit the plate. Use a different type of electrical box that won't interfere with that bracket when you screw it in. We worked around it and drilled through the plate and was able to use two screws to attach that bracket.

The directions with the Warmrails were so bad that they were not that helpful. They could use some more pictures, a list of all the items that should be included for installation, more specific details and parts when explaining the process.

You will need to cut the long tube on the wall plate which I don't understand why that isn't already cut. I guess if you were to add wood onto the drywall to space the towel rack away from the wall more or to have stronger connection than mollies in drywall then you would need to have a longer tube. We used a saw blade for metal on chop saw and was able to cut it down about 3" for it to work. Yes the tube does slide into the on/off button box but eventually it gets resistance from all the wires in there. Why didn't the directions give a good guideline to cut the pipe 3" for a normal wall set up? How about using a pigtail for the wiring that would so much easier?

I have to say the metal box where the on and off button is a small space to work with and plugging the ends in it was a bit of a pain. Also the box was a bit off and sat on the rail a bit crooked and the box was a bit crooked and you could tell it was slapped together. I think a better design with connecting the wires is something they need to look at. Also quality control on the way the box sits on the rail would be in order and perhaps have it designed that the box can be taken off the rail and attached. It would be great to just attach the rails to the wall and have more options as to more easily wiring it. Make it so it is an easier one person project. It takes about two people to do this if you don't do this sort of thing a lot.

One to hold it place while another marks the wall for the screws on top. Use a level on the sides when lining up the top brackets first. I suggest this since there is no room for error with these brackets. Then again when you lightly place the top rails on the top brackets to line up and mark the wall for the screws on the bottom brackets. Then again when someone holds the rail half way in place on top rails while you attach the wires below. The directions could have been so much better. The design could have been so much better. My hopes are the fact that these are not available may mean they are coming out with improved model. Make it were you can put the rails up first and then remove plate in front to hook up the wiring. There has got to be an easier way than this.

We bought from Amazon.com and paid 150.99 and we like the whole concept and nothing came close for the money unfortunately.

Also the rail was in great shape and you would have thought with all those rungs that a scratch or dent or unevenness would have shown up. But the on/off button box sitting on the rail looked crooked and the box was kind of crooked looking all by itself. It looked like it was slapped together. So much thought in the way it looks and then they kind of drop the ball with a small part of it????

I see Kitchen Source was selling these but now there are unavailable. I would not buy from them. (They don't stock items they take your orders and then locate distributors to ship them to you. They think they are a mini Amazon.com but so much worse. I have had terrible experience with them and they lied to me over and over and they don't know the product or how to ship nor do they have control on how it is shipped so very likely it will arrive via Fedex with tons of damage in the same box it sits on the shelf at a store. My mirrored medicine cabinet was shipped to Alabama instead of Portland Oregon area in the same box it sits on shelf at retailer, needless to say it showed up with tons of dents all over the steel box. Other retailers I called knew better than to ship this way. KS will lie and make all sorts of excuses. Really bad online retailer. Privately owned by a family that clearly doesn't care or lets others do their dirty work for them and is asleep at the helm or hides from the public. I tried to contact them and never head back. Either way it is bad news. They also don't allow bad reviews to show up on their website so don't be fooled like I was). Why Amazon lets them be a dealer on their site is puzzling.

Amazon.com sold Warmrails to me and mine showed up in good shape with free shipping. We just had it installed and it warms up well and I wouldn't want it any warmer just in case you backed into it. It does a great job of warming and drying hot tub towels with bathing suits on top of the towels on the bottom rungs and we put our bath towels on the top rungs. Since this bathroom has no heat this towel warmer will also provide some heat along with the Nutone fan/heat/light combo for additional blast of heat.

Update: 7-12-10 Now that I have had this rail for awhile I would install it a bit differently. Since the rail doesn't stand out that far from the wall I would place it on small blocks to give it more room from the wall to prevent the towels from rubbing against the wall each time you put them on the towel rack. Since they do make the metal cover longer for the wiring this can easily be accomplished when you first install it but now we are committed to this since we cut the the tubing to install it the way the instructions suggested.
