I got this scale just for the "upscale" look. It's sleek metal with glass. They state that the lithium battery lasts a long time, so we'll see. It does take four rotations of the `zeros' to fly by before your weight is shown (to the half pound). It looks great and it's cheap. It's thick glass, so if your weight shows more than you expected, you can toss this sucker across the room and it won't break!

UPDATE: Almost five years and it is still working on the same battery!

It's readout has been consistently accurate (no fluctuations of any kind).

I have no idea why some people rated this scale so low. This was rated by Consumer Reports as the best of the best on their latest report on scales. I will take their word over the low reviews because of their extensive testing. This is truly a great scale at a decent price.

I've had this scale for over 4 years. It has moved with me three times. It looks great, and the glass design makes your bathroom look bigger because you can see through to the floor. It is a fabulous scale and very consistent. I don't notice any of the problems listed in the negative reviews and plan to buy one for my parents. I have noticed that it takes 1-2 extra tries when it's cold (below 50 degrees). My battery still works great after 4 years, and I use the scale 3-4 times a day. I love this scale!!

I'm lovin' this scale. I've used one before while staying at someone else's home, and decided THIS is the scale for me! I have a hard time reading all the little tiny increments on the scale I have. This one seems to be consistent...and it'll never need a battery. Nice looking too!

I haven't had this scale long, but so far I really like it. I think the weight is fairly accurate. I put 2 weights on it that were 15 pounds each and the reading was 30.4. Not perfect, but close. I'm not even sure they are EXACTLY 15 pounds each. The best news for me is that my previous scale was measuring 4 pounds heavy so I feel like my diet is particularly effective this week! In addition to it's accuracy, I think it looks great too and I'm not having any problems with it being slow.

Looks great and weighs accurately and consistently - five consecutive weighings all registered exactly the same weight. Recommended!! I don't know if it will last 100 years, but for under $30, it can't be beat.

I've been using this scale for about two weeks, and so far it seems accurate and highly consistent in its readings. It has none of the wild swings in measurements of my previous scale and it tracks closely to values I get on a larger gym scale. It is easy to use, attractive, and produces readings quickly. For the metric-minded, it also has a switch that changes the display to kilograms. The scale is powered by a widely available lithium battery, and changing it should be fairly easy. My model has a slightly askew retention clip, so it takes a little fussing to seat the battery properly, but once it is inserted, the scale works well. The written instructions are okay, though not totally clear. However, the scale is easy to use, so they are not mission-critical. Note that this scale does not require calibration (taring) before every use, unlike many other scales on the market, which is especially convenient.

Overall, I am very pleased with this product. Based on some previous reviews, there may be problems with quality control in the production of this scale. I haven't encountered any thus far, and the low price makes this an especially attractive product.

It's a good looking, accurate and consistent scale at a great price.

I personally don't care if it's a pound or two off from some other scale - who knows if the others are correct? Just because a scale is in a doctor's office or a gym does not mean they are accurate. Actually with the consistent heavy use, they are probably not as accurate as the Taylor.

I would recommend this this scale. It's $30 - if you are really unhappy, throw it out and waste your money on something more expensive. Your pants not being tight is probably a better thing to keep an eye on than the scale anyway.

The accuracy of scale readings is excellent compared to digital scales in my doctor's office for me and my spouse. I believe Taylor makes the big scale used on the "biggest looser show" That may or may not mean anything but

I purchased this scale because it was written up so well in Consumer Reports. as nearly as I can tell, Consumer's was right. This scale weighs accurately, which is more than I can say for several scales I have owned.

I also appreciate the scale's clean good looks. It is easy to clean, glass will not rust. I am way over 200 pounds and it is plenty strong enough for me.

I feel that this scale is 3 pounds more than the actual weight, but at least the weight doesn't show 3 times differently if you step on it. So, if your weight shows 105lbs, you weight is actually 102lbs. Overall, the scale looks very nice and elegant.

This scale looks great for the price. (I picked mine up at Target for around $35.) I checked its results against a standard balancing scale; and so far the scale seems to be quite accurate. The only reason I give the scale 4 out of 5 stars is because of the way it sits, it is far too unbalanced. If you step too far off center, the entire scale has a tendency to tip. On more then one occasion I nearly flipped the scale, and came dangerously close to breaking the glass surface. Other than that, it is a great scale that I would not hesitate to recommend.

My wife and I really have enjoyed our new Taylor 7506 scales. They were rated as the most accurate (even over our previous high end model), and it appears that they are very accurate. They are easy to read (to the tenth of a pound even). They arevery nice looking and give the appears of taking up less floor space due to the see thru design.

We have just received this Taylor 7506 bathroom scale. It looks very nice and appears to work perfectly so I have no complaints about the unit itself.

My quibble is that the Amazon product description says that there is a 5 year warranty. I cannot find anything on the package or in the package that I received to substantiate that claim.

The chances that I would ever need this product protection are probably slim, but it would be nice to know if I do have some kind of coverage or not.

This is a great design and given high marks for accuracy and consistency by Consumer Reports. Like other digital scales it thinks for awhile then holds the final weight reading for a short time. The only shortcoming is that it does not give an audible beep when the final weight is registered, as some scales do, so you have to either watch the readout while still on the scale or just wait about 4 seconds then step off and look at the readout.

On the negative side, it does seem to give results a pound or two heavier than the scale at the doctor's office and gym. I just subtract two from my weight to determine my actual weight.

I have one of these and it is accurate and doesn't look like a scale covering your bathroom floor space.

I used it also to weigh luggage prior to flying within maximum weight limits. I did allow myself a 1.5 pound margin for error in case the airline scale was off and they were having a "picky" day.

I am dissapointed I can't ship one to my new address in the 50th state. Bummer. I didn't want to move mine due to possibility of wrecking it, prossibly their concern too. I will get one at Target and put in my carry-on next time.

I wanted a nice, economical scale to use in the bathroom as a general guide. For the price point, it does a good job. I am 2 pounds heaver on this scale than the professional quality at the gym. The good news is, it seems like it is a consistent 2 pounds. It's nice, pretty, and the numbers are readable.

We bought 1 of these about 2 years ago, and we liked it so much we bought 2 more for family. after about a year and a half, it was time to replace batteries (so it seemed) for two of them. It turns out that one of the two was broken altogether, and the second just isn't the same after the new battery. If you think that getting a couple of years out of a scale is OK, this is a good scale.

After reading the reviews posted for this scale, I thought I should chime in and confirm what appears to be a defect:

I just purchased this scale to upgrade from my current analog scale, also made by Taylor. I was immediately disappointed to find out that the readings I got from it were approximately 3 pounds heavier than the readings on my older scale. In addition, the readings I received fluctuated by as much as 2 pounds within minutes of each reading.

I asked my wife to do a side-by-side comparison with the professional balance scale at the ER where she works as a nurse. She confirmed that this model also registered about 3 pounds heavier. I will be taking this one back for a refund.

I gave it 2 stars because it really does look nice, unfortunately the performance just doesn't measure up.

This scale doesn't give readings when it's cold. I have to warm it up with a spaceheater for it to work in the winter because I keep it in the laundry room. Is anyone else having this problem? Also, I find that it tells me I'm 3 pounds or so lighter than I am, which is very flattering, but it's just not true.

I bought this scale (my first electronic) for the purpose of more accurately monitoring my daily weight than with the dial scale I've been using. As a test, over the last few days I have stepped on the scale each morning three times in a 60 second period. The digital reading fluctuates one to two pounds within that 60 seconds. It also weighs 2 pounds heavier than the dial and other digital scales I've tested it against (calibration problem?). I bought two of these to give one as a gift. Now I'm sorry I did.

So I never post product reviews. I couldn't be bothered 99% of the time as I generally expect products to work and will always give companies a second chance.

That being said I gave Taylor three chances in 6 months with this scale and its complete junk. Then I see that Consumer Reports made this their highest rated scale??? Wow...so I am kinda mad.

Here's my story. Bought this scale in the beginning of 2009, mostly for a holiday / new years resolution to lose weight. The scale came outta the box DOA. Okay, that happens. Look for a way to replace it (I didn't buy it on Amazon)...call customer service. Rude and intrusive and wanted me to pay to return it to them. Obnoxious. So I do it.

Next one comes....weights are all over the place. In 5 minute span I gained 17 pounds? Call customer service again. They tell me its most likely my technique with using the scale. So insulting. Bear using that one for about two weeks before getting totally frustrated and demotivated with my weight loss plan. Am I losing weight or not? Who knew with that thing. Put up a huge stink with customer service and got a free new one.

The last one lasted about five months. Weighed accurate for the most part but just died on me one day. Replaced the batteries. Nothing. Finally gave up on these guys and bought another brand.

If you believe that this is a good scale because some people at Taylor sent 5 perfect samples to Consumer Reports then believe it. I don't. Quality control and customer service are sorely lacking.

I agree that the scale looks nice, but a pretty scale and $.41 will buy you a stamp. This piece of junk didn't last a month before it went blank. Replacement batteries didn't work. The reviews confirm that there's enough problems with this product to warrant spending your money elsewhere. Otherwise, you'll end up like me trying (but not succeeding) to salvage some self respect by writing a "bad scale" review.

A scale needs to do just one thing, right?
This often gives wildly exaggerated results at first, then you have to step off and let it re-set like a computer. Results can vary within a very few minutes.
Display gave out after 2 years.

The weight is not constant at all. I weight myself 3 times and I would get numbers that vary as much as 3lbs and the weight was off by 3lbs to 6lbs then my gym weight.

just recently received the Taylor 7506 scale. The scale was apparently sold to someone else and was returned, the packaged was damaged and the scotch tape on the box had been removed and the plastic wrap around the scale had holes in it. I ordered this scale thinking I had purchased a new scale but received less. I blame Amazon for this practice of supplying used products to sold as new. I considered returning the scale but do not want to go through the trouble. my review will probably not be accepted.
